Blog 1 of 2011!

Lots to catch up on, so will simply post photos.

Things behind schedule for a few reasons ...but to a large extent the weather (sub zero temps, freezing rain and snow) has caused delays. Currently, as usual over here for the time of year, bitterly cold. It is not reaching anywhere near freezing even during the day. That inevitably causes problems when needing to use water, for example, for concrete, as well as getting deliveres up a long ice covered driveway!! The builder has been running propane heaters in the house, night and day, everyday for 2 months now..(over 1000 galls of propane has been burnt!) so that whatever work it is possible to continue, can do so. It has been looking for a month now that the project is, at a mimimum 3 weeks behind schedule. However, realistically, having seen the house today after 2 weeks away myself, the house will not be finished by even early March.

Hopefully the series of photos in the following blogs will fill in the progress this past couple of months..drywall, painting , geo thermal and water wells, wood trim, radiant heat installation, floors poured in preparation for tiling, commencement of stair bannisters, installation of interior doors and front door frame, gutterng, front porch flooring etc. Tiling and installation of garage doors, continuation of any exterior work have all been delayed by the weather these past 2+ weeks
